Ep 03. Why We Started Our Donation Campaign – A Story That Touched Our Hearts
Share
Hi, this is Rex. It’s been a while.
We’ve been busy these past few months, working on exports to the U.S. and Singapore and developing new products.
But today, I want to pause for a moment and share a more personal story.
It’s about why we started our donation campaign, and the moment that truly moved us.
🧡 ORAEO LAB began with my father
The beginning of OraeoLab was deeply personal —
it all started with my father, who was fighting pancreatic cancer.
He couldn’t eat regular meals due to chemotherapy.
His senses were too sensitive, and everything made him nauseous.
The only thing he could eat comfortably? Light, easy snacks.
That’s when we thought:
"What if we could nourish the body through snacks?"
That one question gave birth to OraeoLab.
💭 Giving snacks wasn’t as easy as we thought
We wanted to share our snacks directly with other cancer patients.
But it wasn’t easy. Reaching out one by one, we realized it could feel awkward — for both sides.
So we came up with a better way:
We’d turn it into a campaign.
If someone filled out a short survey, we’d send them snacks —
a way to give and receive with mutual respect and purpose.
At first, the survey was simple: name, age, type of cancer, hospital.
But over time, we improved it.
To make snacks that truly help, we started asking deeper questions:
“What nutrients are you lacking?” “What do you crave?” “What foods are hardest to eat?”
The answers we received became a powerful guide for product development.
💬 Then came a message we’ll never forget
Some participants who received our snacks began sharing honest reviews —
on Instagram, YouTube, blogs.
One story, in particular, left us all in tears.
A woman who had received our snacks later bought them herself.
Her mother was in the final stage of cancer.
She wrote:
“OraeoLab’s Mushroom Brown Rice Chips helped us provide some nutrition, even when nothing else worked.
Two weeks before she passed, she stopped eating altogether.
But two days before she left us, she had one last bite — of your snack.
Thank you for making something my mother could eat, one last time.”
All of us on the team cried.
For the first time, it felt like the heart behind our work had truly reached someone.
🕊️ A year later, she wrote again
One year later, the same woman left a review:
“Lately, I’ve been thinking of my mom a lot.
I bought the Mushroom Brown Rice Chips she last ate.
Eating them again brought back memories.
Please keep making these wonderful snacks — they’ll always be remembered.”
🌱 Let’s never forget why we started
That message reminded us:
Our roots began with cancer patients.
And through giving, we hope that love and care can continue to spread.
We know we can’t change everything.
But if our snacks can provide even the smallest comfort,
then we’re doing what we were meant to do.
If a snack is good enough for a cancer patient, it’s good enough for everyone.
And so — our donation campaign will never stop.
Until our snacks reach cancer patients all over the world.
Next time, I’ll share a story from one of our in-person interviews with a patient.
Until then, wishing you a peaceful day, wherever you are.
